Hi, I'm Jo Hurley, your marriage celebrant based on the beautiful Gold Coast.
I’m all about Love, and you will feel that from the second we meet in person. I have a huge heart for creating love story ceremonies that are all about you, not me!
Why I am a marriage celebrant
I’m a second-generation marriage celebrant, following in my father’s footsteps.
Growing up, I loved watching my dad work as a marriage celebrant. What I admired most were his relationships with families, the love and respect his clients had for him, and how his job allowed him to give back so much to his local community.
My Dad inspires me every day to be the best celebrant I can be.
A bit about me
I’m creative, organised, great at writing, and always generous with smiles and hugs!
I am known for my ability to stay really calm and confident in any situation. An introvert at heart, I absolutely come to life the moment I get that microphone in my hand! My experience enables me to be engaging, funny and emotional in a really authentic way.
No two weddings are the same, and I love it that way.
Why I love my job
Weddings are my full-time professional job (not a hobby!). I just love the industry I work in, and the beautiful moments I get to share with so many amazing couples.
I also love that I get to drive my classic car Ellie to weddings every weekend, it’s like I’m living the dream!
It is really an honour to be chosen to create your wedding ceremony, and memories that will carry you through the good times and bad for the rest of your life.
My personal life
I live in Mermaid Waters and have been blessed with four children. My family keeps me motivated, happy and grounded in the nicest possible way!
My love for old cars, music, travel and story-telling makes it really easy for me to strike up a conversation with guests from all generations. In fact, listening to your family’s stories after the ceremony is one of my favourite parts of my job.
