2020 tech wedding trends

Whether it’s dating, shopping or planning the next big holiday, tapping into the latest technology to make things easier and more fun has become pretty common place.

Your wedding doesn’t have to be an exception. There are so many gadgets, apps and ideas on the market that can help with the planning and smooth delivery of your big day… or at the very least, they’ll add a bit of fun.

Below, you’ll find a collection of my favourite tech wedding trends for this season.

A different perspective

There’s a lot you can do when it comes to capturing the big moments on your wedding day. Think drones for awesome guest shots and sweeping venue footage for example, or a Go-Pro bouquet for the bride. The footage will let you relive some the most intimate moments from a very different angle at a later date.

For a bit of fun, forgo the traditional photobooth and hire a GIF stand, get someone to create a moving montage of your day or think about incorporating projection mapping and graphics into your decoration. There’s some amazing new technology on the market that lets you project entire landscapes, scenes and themes into a room.

The world of 3D

3D really is the next big thing when it comes to wedding tech. Think printed wedding favours that are done on the day, 3D printed wedding cakes (yes, it’s a thing!) produced on site, or drones and cameras that are capable of 3D filming.

Wearable tech

How amazing would it be if you could somehow capture your emotions as you walk down the aisle? Well, with a wearable heart-rate tracker, you now can. Even better, give a record of your vitals to a designer or artist who’ll use it to create a keepsake artwork of your feelings on the day.

Instead of the traditional wedding band, consider a smart ring (welcome to the world of tech-laden jewellery). Just like other wearable tech, the smart ring has inbuilt software that lets you track anything from sleep, to pulse rate, activity and more.

Interactive crowds

The brilliant thing about technology is that it connects us and makes things more accessible. Get your guests involved by letting them tweet song requests to your DJ; geo-map your wedding; live stream the celebrations for those who can’t attend and get everyone to hashtag their social photos, so you can easily access a gallery of the events in the future.

Paperwork and planning

A lot of tech can also be incorporated into the planning stages of your wedding. Think digital save the dates, invites and websites or Facebook groups for further information. The real wedding prep gold, however lies in new apps, such as Love Skript, my online ceremony builder that helps you find the perfect words for your big day, and Manage my wedding, which will help you stay organised and keep you on track.

If you’re in the planning stages of your wedding, let me help you create the perfect day! I love bringing people together and sharing personal love stories in a genuine, fun way.
